At MLP we are proud to have been a part of transforming the JLL Melbourne office at 101 Collins St, located in the heart of the Hoddle Grid. The design concept for the vibrant workplace took inspiration from its iconic location, combining the refined sophistication of Collins Street with the bustling energy of nearby Flinders Lane. This duality became the driving force behind the design, seamlessly merging historical influences with modern functionality. The result is a space that not only embodies the cultural richness of Melbourne but also reflects JLL’s diverse and forward-thinking identity.
The design embraces contrasts, such as sleek polished surfaces set against more raw, industrial elements, a nod to Melbourne’s rich history of local manufacturing on Flinders Lane. Layering these materials throughout the office space creates a dynamic, multi-sensory environment where employees and visitors feel a connection to the past and the future simultaneously. Each area has been designed to encourage collaboration, creativity, and flexibility, while honouring the architectural integrity of the building and its surroundings.
Lighting played a crucial role in enhancing the ambiance and functionality of the space. Working closely with the JLL design team & Glowing Structures, we created a custom lighting solution consisting of B4 Fourline curved LED in a bronze finish. The C35H Fourline features an H shaped profile providing direct and indirect light from its suspended location. This attention to detail in lighting ensures that the space is not only visually stunning but also conducive to a productive and inspiring work environment.
