Mysa Pilates Studio – Subtle Lighting for Focused Movement
Guided by a refined, minimal aesthetic, Mysa Studio is a wellness space rooted in clarity, calm and comfort. Designed by State Twenty Eight, the interior is a lesson in restraint – combining architectural rhythm with natural materials, neutral tones and subtle elements. Lighting plays a pivotal role in supporting the studio’s atmosphere of softness and sophistication, blending seamlessly into the form and function of the space.
MLP delivered a lighting schedule that complements the pared-back material palette while meeting the technical requirements of a busy studio. Emphasis was placed on achieving low-glare illumination with dimmable, warm white light throughout, creating an inviting and balanced ambience for clients and instructors alike.
To maintain consistency across the space, a suite of 3000K LED products was selected, all with 90+ CRI for true colour rendering. The B4 FOURout 72 downlights in black with matching trim provide unobtrusive general lighting with a soft flood beam, while Modular Shellby 184 and K72 fittings deliver targeted illumination with a discreet architectural profile. For layered interest and practical flexibility, we introduced ADesignStudio’s FlatWhite W1 wall lights in matte white with opal glass, adding gentle highlights to vertical surfaces and enhancing depth.
Custom lengths of MLP’s B4 FOURline surface-mounted linear profiles were integrated into ceiling and joinery elements, bringing visual structure and rhythm. For accent and perimeter lighting, B4 FOURflex SF16 flexible silicone strips were used, IP65 rated and installed with aluminium mounting channels. The feature element – a large rectangular loop of FOURline C18 profile lighting – was tailored to suit the unique proportions of the main studio ceiling, creating a focal point that is both sculptural and functional.
The result is a lighting scheme that supports the serene identity of the Mysa brand, while meeting the functional requirements of a contemporary fitness studio.
