NAB 3PS Parramatta
Inclusive and authentic, NAB Parramatta reflects the company’s ‘emerging’ persona. Set within one of Australia’s largest urban renewal projects, the Parramatta Square Precinct, and designed in parallel with NAB 2CS to form a dedicated Sydney campus, the Parramatta workplace draws on locational cues to represent Sydney’s culturally diverse population, while offering opportunities to connect with the inner workings of the banking institution.
13 levels of adaptable workspace, designed by Woods Bagot, are connected by a red, ribbon-like stair and void, offering a striking brand motif throughout the building. Public engagement is encouraged in the building’s lower levels, drawing the customer and community inwards with a range of immersive spaces for connection and co-creation. Movement, spatial distribution and interior forms create a layered and interactive experience, enlivening by bright colour accents and lush planting.
Inclusive and authentic
Home to a high proportion of the bank’s support staff, the upper levels are comprised of a diversified suite of spaces: adaptable team workspaces, secure workspaces and contact centres. Suspended SLD 50 fittings by Modular Lighting are installed within the main work floors and café – fine, extruded profiles offering direct and indirect light. The angled arrangement of fitting creates a playful geometry of light, while the luminaire’s prismatic diffuser reduces glare and offers a high level of visual comfort for workplace compliance.
Recessed and surface mounted SLD 50s are used throughout NAB Parramatta’s formal and informal meeting spaces, producing direct task lighting for staff. The fitting’s fine flange surround offers a continuous light beam, accentuating the space’s vibrant bursts of red. The versatile fitting is configured to suit the various sizes and configurations of meeting spaces, allowing for continuity in light throughout.
Combined with NAB’s 2CS workplace, the project transforms the NAB experience for 6,000 employees, demonstrating the brand’s commitment to driving positive organisational change through design. The vibrancy of the design is felt by staff and visitors alike, reflecting an evolutions of NAB’s company legacy.
